Green IT B2B ordering portal
Green IT's innovative monthly subscription-based device leasing supports the business of modern enterprises and a sustainable future. They have been the market leader in the Estonian Device as a Service (DaaS) sector since 2006.
Green IT is part of the Telia Estonia group and is a "high-level" partner for major global hardware manufacturers such as Hewlett Packard, Lenovo, Dell, and Cisco. They are trusted by more than 200 major clients in the business and public sectors, and they manage a total of over 70,000 IT devices.
Reducing manual work for sales staff
Green IT approached us with the desire to reduce manual work for their sales staff and enable customers to select suitable rental products from a catalog and place orders themselves. Secondary objectives included the automatic enrichment of product data and the optimal utilization of business logic from their existing intranet and self-service IT solutions during the implementation of the ordering portal.
How do device leasing services and Shopify fit together?
When looking at the customer journey for a device leasing flow in general, it does not actually differ significantly from flow of a standard e-shop. The user still wants to view products by category, filter them, see the rental price, and get acquainted with products and their specifications.
The main complexity stems more from business requirements, which limit the ordering portal to contract customers and their users. Additionally, rental prices, available products, and rental periods may vary depending on the contract. The B2B functionality included in the Shopify Plus package provided an out of the box solution for these complexities, and once logged in with their account, the client's user sees exactly the product information assigned to them.
Product data enrichment
The system already in use at Green IT provided product data, but it was not enriched, lacked the final rental price, and gave administrators no way to select products suitable for the ordering portal.
To achieve these functionalities, we developed software that precedes Shopify. This system was integrated with various service providers that offer additional information for Green IT products. Higher quality results are filtered out from the various additional information received from service providers and are then transmitted to Shopify as needed. The system also allows the Green IT administrator to price products and determine their visibility in the e-shop.

Without knowing the details, it is challenging to predict the budget of an e-commerce site.
Building the simplest e-shop on Shopify will stay within our minimum budget of 1000€.
For e-commerce sites with more complex business rules, custom business software integrations, and user interfaces drawn by a designer, you should consider a budget of €10,000+. -
The best way to do this is to use our Parcely parcel locker app. We offer a free setup of the app and delivery method. You can install the app itself in your e-shop from the official Shopify app store here https://apps.shopify.com/parcelyapp
-
We always recommend the OPAY payment initiation service because it allows you to display your bank selection directly in the Shopify checkout and the service itself is reasonably priced.

Yes, of course. The Shopify admin is very user-friendly, and there are many tutorials online. You can also take a look at our little guide here.
We sometimes help merchants with just a few changes or small development tasks. For example, we have developed the Directo integration for several online stores, meaning the merchant built the online store by themselves and we just added Directo integration to it.

Yes, it's not difficult if all work tasks are defined and described before starting the migration. Products, categories, content pages, and blog posts can often be transferred automatically (depending on the software). However, you need to consider manual work to check everything over and correct links and content layouts.
You can't migrate the theme code or user interface of an e-shop, but you can use it as a basis when creating a Shopify store and create something as similar as possible if necessary. -
The Shopify Plus plan is Shopify enterprise software, meaning it differs significantly in functionality from the standard Shopify packages.
The Shopify Plus plan is worth it if the merchant needs the functionality not available in Shopify's regular plans. For example, the Plus plan is necessary if the merchant works in a wholesale business or needs more B2B functionality.
The Plus plan also pays off if the e-store's annual turnover exceeds a few million. Namely, with the Shopify Plus plan, the merchant pays a significantly lower service percentage fee per order.
